Grendel Stormchaser
Grendel always had a penchant for the shiniest things his grubby little hands could grasp. This is why he was fascinated with lighting - it was visually enticing but not reachable by a mortal. He did not want to define his life with things he could not have, rather, always challenged himself to think outside the box to get what he wanted.
One day, he took an unmanned ship to sea and found a kraken dormant near an island. He snuck up to it and found a wind-chime attached to one of its tentacles. As he reached for it, he noticed someone watching...the kraken was starring right at him. He didn't move, nor did he blink. His life, flashing before his eyes - he did the unexpected. He kissed the kraken's tentacle and smiled.
The kraken shook off the wind-chime, winked at Grendel and left. Grendel knew he had a gift, a gift of talking his way into, and out of, situations. From then on, he knew his life was meant to be at sea...chasing storms, no matter how big. He found his crew and set forth as The Sea Wolves.
