Pillage
Overview
The map contains a small, circular chain of islands in a large sea. Ships spawn outside of the island chain. There are also different islands that you can refine at within this game mode. They are on the outside of the map, and you can view them by opening your map with ESC.
Overview
Pillage Mode in "Captain & Company" is an engaging multiplayer feature where players engage in naval combat to seize loot from opposing ships. This mode supports battles with up to 128 players, emphasizing strategy, teamwork, and competition. Pillage is a hybrid player vs environment (PvE) and player vs player (PvP) game mode. Here, pirates do battle with monsters, NPC ships, and other players for rewards.
Gameplay Mechanics
- Roles: Players can take on the role of a Captain, who leads the ship, or join as part of a Company, assisting in combat operations.
- Combat: The gameplay revolves around dynamic sea battles where sinking an enemy ship allows the victor to collect whatever rewards their crew had collected.
Strategic Elements
- Game Lobbies and Parties: Players can either join public game lobbies or create private parties, facilitating coordinated play with friends or strategic gameplay among allies.
- Targeting: The Green Beacon on a ship marks a crew carrying a significant amount of loot, making it a strategic priority for players aiming for high rewards.
- Boss Encounters: Bosses occasionally appear, offering large loot drops but attracting numerous players, which can lead to intense battles for control.
- Refinery Stations: Positioned around the map's perimeter, these stations allow players to convert gathered crafting materials into more beneficial assets, enhancing resource management.
- Community and Social Play: Cross-platform capabilities ensure players on various devices can participate together, fostering a vibrant community.
- Being sunk means that you lose 70% of your loot, so be sure to repair often and know when to extract!
Joining Pillage Mode
You may join the game by running over to the middle of the docks, between the bar and the ship dock on the left hand side. Inside the shack, there is a door and two options. Select Pillage and it brings up this menu.
Once you have completed that, you can click JOIN, and either join Open Queue, which will pair you with someone in the game randomly, Create a Private Party, where you will start your own crew, or Join Crew with Match Code at the bottom of the screen.
Be sure that you choose your cannons wisely, as you cannot choose them again until you have extracted and start a new lobby.
Extracting your Loot
The extraction beacon is red and is shown on the compass around your profile picture in the top left. The arrow will point you in the direction of the extraction beacon. For a tip, extract whenever your health is low, or you have a lot of loot!
Rewards
At the time, you can loot Nuggies, mBlast, doubloons, blueprints, crystals, airdrop points and resources (cloth, lumber, ores). For more information on the drop rates, check out Loot Tables.
